Life Church, Senior Pastor and Chief Executive Officer. Currently overseeing all aspects of the growth and development of a Boston-area church that I co-founded with my wife.

á      May 2002 – October 2003

Jubilee Christian Church (formerly New Covenant Christian Church), Associate Pastor and Chief Operating Officer. Oversaw administrative and organizational operations of a 5,000 member congregation with an annual budget of $6M and a staff of 50. Supervised the departments responsible for: information technology, facilities management, audio-visual services, the book store, youth ministry, and music and arts. Hired a human resources supervisor to bring our personnel policies and practices up to date. Assembled a team that completely revamped outdated internet, phone, and computer infrastructure. Worked with contractors, consultants, and architects to plan and supervise various special projects.

á      July 1982 – April 2002

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Information Systems (now Information Services and Technology)

Senior Project Manager (January 2000 – April 2002). Co-leader of MIT's Environmental Health and Safety System Discovery Project. Member of the Enterprise Printing Delivery Project team. Continuing responsibility as part of VM Systems Services Team. Worked with IBM consultants and wrote tailored Perl code to adapt MIT's centralized printing service (based on IBM's InfoPrint Manager product) to MIT's distributed printing infrastructure (based on the LPRng open source print spooler).

Senior Systems Programmer (June 1998 - January 2000). Leader of MIT's Year 2000 Project Team. Continuing responsibility as part of VM Systems Services Team.

Senior Systems Programmer (January 1997 - June 1998). Leader of team responsible for developing web interface to SAP R/3. Ongoing responsibility as member of the VM Systems Services Team for the accounting system on the IBM mainframe running VM/ESA. Ongoing responsibility for software monitoring key mainframe services and for shared file system authorization management software.

Systems Programmer I (July 1982 – November 1983), Systems Programmer II (December 1983 – February 1991), Systems Programmer III (March 1991 – December 1997). Shared responsibility for installing and maintaining system software on an IBM 9121/480 mainframe under the VM/ESA Operating System; Designed (over 50,000 lines of code) and installed an accounting system using IBM's SQL/DS database product, PL/1, 370 Assembler, and REXX. Responsible for ongoing maintenance for the accounting system and the SQL/DS accounting database. Designed and implemented an automated Online Consulting System to support mainframe customers. Installed AIX on IBM mainframe to provide NFS file service for MIT's Cray YMP supercomputer. Designed and implemented monitoring system for production servers. Designed and implemented a client/server based system that allowed computer operators to monitor and acknowledge important system messages.

á      July 1986 - July 1988

Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government Consultant. Provided occasional assistance in use of Focus to maintain the budget database under VM/SP on an IBM 3033.

á      October 1981 - June 1982

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Information Processing Services (now Information Services and Technology), Programmer. Responsible for the development of utility software on an IBM 370/168  running VM/SP and on a Honeywell Level 68/DPS running Multics. Additional responsibilities included consulting, and assisting members of the MIT community with problems encountered using the computer facilities.

Database Experience:

Responsible for initial selection of and pioneered production use of SQL/DS (now known as DB/2) at MIT. Assisted Database Services Team with SQL/DS installation, recovery, maintenance, and debugging.

Internet / World-Wide-Web Experience:

Installed production web server on IBM mainframes and set up several websites for I/T Service Process (part of MIT Information Systems). Implemented Kerberos authentication on IBM mainframe web servers by porting Project Mandarin software to VM/ESA.

Human Resources Experience:

Served on a quality improvement team that researched the time gap between problem reporting and problem resolution. Received training and was appointed as a quality advisor within MIT Information Systems.  Served as a facilitator for a team that investigated document delivery issues at MIT. Assisted the Associate Provost in conducting harassment awareness seminars for administrative officers. Assisted the Vice President for Information Systems as part of a team responsible for interviewing candidates for Director level positions within the organization. Completed 8 day Project Management training course administered by Duncan, Nevison & Associates.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

á      Unix Shell Scripts, Perl, PHP.

á      Web Design and Programming using HTML, XHTML, Dreamweaver, PHP, and Javascript

á      Web Server Installation and configuration using Apache and X509 certificates

á      Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

á      Editing audio files using Bias Peak LE, and Conversion and Uploading of audio files using Quicktime, Real Audio, and Windows Media formats.

á      Business and Scientific Programming in PL/1 (over 60,000 lines written), z/VM Assembler (over 4,000 lines written), and REXX (over 70,000 lines written).

á      System Tailoring for the IBM z/VM Environment Using Execs, Xedit Macros, and CMS Pipes. SQL/DS & DB/2 Database design. Debugging and Trouble-Shooting.
